Inverell Shows Society

Welcome

The Inverell Show encourages community involvement to showcase what Inverell and its District has to offer. Come and watch the woodchop, whip cracking and horse riding events. Browse the pavilion full of arts, crafts and homemade cooking.

Maybe you would like to see what the town has to offer in tractors, mowers or motor vehicles. There are always plenty of animals to view whether its birds, poultry, sheep or cattle. As the sun sets enjoy the fireworks, rodeo, demolition derby or recapture your youth down sideshow alley.

Since 1868, for 150 years, the Inverell Show Society has hosted the local show. The first show was held on the banks of the Macintyre River behind what is now Coles. In 1873 it was moved to Kamilaroi Park which is now a sporting oval.

Our current location, which we have enjoyed since 1914, is the Inverell Showground which is on the Tingha Road on the edge of town.

Come along and join us on February 28th, 29th and March 1st 2020 for our show.

As part of the Australian Government Drought Communities Programme, in conjunction with the Inverell Shire Council there will be FREE entry to our show for 2019.

SAPPHIRE WIND FARM COMMUNITY FUND

The Inverell Show Society is again grateful to the Sapphire Wind Farm for their support of our Society. In 2018, they provided us with funding to entertain the crowds with the Rooftop Express.

In 2019, we have been allocated grant money from the Sapphire Wind Farm Community Fund to upgrade our campdraft facilities.

This funding will be used to focus on animal welfare with the purchase of shade sails, improved watering points in our cattle yards and a new loading ramp to ensure the safe and efficient return of stock to their properties.

A special thank you to the Sapphire Wind Farm for their continued support of not only the Inverell Show Society but the Inverell Community as a whole.
